Progress Report: Building My YouTube Career as a Solo Mum with ADHD—And a Shoutout to Annah Kiiru!

Building a career on YouTube as a solo mum and a late-diagnosed ADHD creator has been a journey of adaptation, resilience, and growth. With just six videos live, I’ve reached 1.9K views and have a slowly growing community. Tracking this progress gives me a sense of direction and takes away the fear of posting—knowing each video brings me closer to my long-term goals.

Starting as a YouTuber in my late 30s, I’ve learned to balance content creation with family life and new workflows. My son, who even made a surprise appearance in a recent video, constantly reminds me why I’m doing this—to create a sustainable career that supports us and allows me to be fully present for my two kids.

A big part of my journey also involves exploring the intersections between science and spirituality. Recently, on 11/11, I set intentions through meditation to remove financial blocks, declutter my space, and boost creativity. I’m training my Reticular Activating System (R.A.S) to stay focused and creating the energy I need to keep going, even on tough ADHD days.

Despite interruptions, I’m finding my rhythm and seeing how this journey continues to teach me resilience. My analytics may be modest, but they’re a reminder that I’m progressing. Every video I post helps me build skills, refine my voice, and connect with others who find value in my content.

In times when the world feels heavy, I want to use this platform for something positive. Today, I’m lending my heart to the hikoi here in Aotearoa New Zealand in support of the Treaty Principles Bill protest and feeling deeply for the people of Palestine. If you’re looking for one small action, please consider supporting my friend Annah Kiiru’s channel on YouTube. She’s another incredible solo mum striving for abundance and using her creativity to support her family. Show some love by subscribing at Annah Kiiru’s YouTube Channel @AnnahKiiru and help her reach her goals too.

Thank you to everyone who’s joined me on this path. Every view, comment, and subscriber reminds me that I’m on the right track. It’s a slow climb, but one day, I’ll look back and be grateful for every step and the growth that came from staying true to this journey.
